Duration: 60 Minutes We can take a maximum of 25 students per group
What you can expect
After a short Safety Talk, Jim (our toy maker & faciliator), will explain & demonstrate each process clearly & facilitate the children where needed.
All children within one group work on the same project. Each child makes (& takes home) her/his own proper wooden toy.
If that's not enough,
the children then get a chance to be even morecreative in their own individual UNSTRUCTURED way with our creative box of random wooden shapes, blocks& dowels.
This often leads to some very surprising results!
Holiday program wooden toy choices:
The Bird Feeder
As with all our wooden toys, this project can also be painted as a follow up activity.
The result could look something like this ...
$450 + GST per group/incursion We are based on the Mornington Peninsula. For distances from 25 km,a flat rate of $25 travel cost is incurred. For distances above, we work on a sliding scale per kilometre. Click here for the areas we currently cater for.
Jim & I sat together and spent hours (days actually) tailoring the EYLF Learning Outcomes to our Little Woodworkers® incursions to show you the benefits. So, please take advantage of them. They're perfect for the children's portfolios (after the incursion).
Our woodwork incursions ● fulfill the Learning Outcomes of the VEYLDF & The Victorian Curriculum F-10(revised guidelines). ● impart an important sustainability message so the children can make the connection between their environment and every day wooden items.
● have the potential for follow-up lessons/activities.
● ensure the children remember this experience for a long time.
